Hoot cake.

This is the big cake I made for Jackson's party.

I hand crafted Hoot but the rest of the decorations were made from silicone moulds. We sell the buttons mould.

Tattered Lace Owl extravavganza!

I am currently working on Tattered Lace sample cards for Photo Continental. These are the cards I have created using the set of three Owls.

Fairly intricate dies, so time consuming to do, but didn't they turn out great?

Christmas 'Noel' boxes.

This is a project designed to showcase our silicone moulds and ultra light air dry clay. I have used other products and techniques to flesh out the design and these include stamping and die cuts. There are quite a few pictures as there are four cubes with 5 sides decorated on each. This will be a three hour workshop held at Photo Continental. Keep checking their website for details.

The following are pictures of the tops of the cubes.

I used Antique gold Rub 'N' Buff over the ultra light paper clay to add a bit more colour and to show the detail in the designs.

Let me know what you think and please ask questions if you want to know about any of the products used.

Utee and Mica powders

This is the display board I made for the Papercrafts Expo held in Brisbane last month. Its amazing what melting Utee with mica powders mixed into it will achieve. If they don't work out, re-melt them!

Each white frame contains the items that are in each mould. The Christmas Gingerbread pieces as well as the Christmas Tree have been highlighted with a gold permanent marker. There are more moulds in the range, just go to the website to view them.

Miniature baked goods.

Well my ultra light clay has finally arrived from China. When you complain how expensive stuff is here compared to overseas I would like you to know that most of the time it is because of freight costs. Our freight cost us just about double the cost of the product and that was sea freight! We were quoted a fair enough price by the forwarding company and then we got the bill. There was rather a long list of other government charges not including GST.

Apart from that our clay is great and one of the ladies that attends one of my classes had fun creating this small plate of miniature baked goodies. She moulded them by hand using various supplies I had in my workshop and cake decorating tools. The cupcakes were formed in a chocolate mould. That should give you some idea of size. If you still can't visualise the sizes the small iced biscuit (looks like a macaroon) is smaller than a 5 cent piece. The stand is a single cupcake stand I had purchased before last Christmas. Thanks Glenda! I added Terry's cupcake to the plate too so thanks to both of you.

The coconut on the lamington is flower soft, the sprinkles on the iced doughnut are micro beads and the rose on the cupcakes are the smallest rose from our roses mould.

I'll be posting some of my creations soon but hey will be more in the card making line or off the page projects.

Mouldy news.

Well the Papercrafts Expo has been and gone. My moulds were a hit even though my clay didn't arrive in time but I used Utee with mica powders and people were happy. The buttons mould was very popular. I will post photos of my display board as soon as I get a chance to take the pictures.

I am teaching next Wednesday at Stampers and Scrapbopokers Wonderland and here are the cards.

I hope I see you there!

Newest products - Moulds and ultra light clay.

I know it's been a while since my last post but I genuinely have been busy. I will be on the Photo Continental stand at the June Paper Expo demonstrating our newest products. I will be showing you how to get the best out of your silicone moulds and our own brand of ultra light, pre coloured, air dry clay.

These four cards feature these products. I only had small amounts of white and blue to play with. Just wait until I get my hands on the full colour range of 12 colours that I can then create any colour I want! And it's not even Christmas.

You can go to our website to see all of the mould designs so far. More are on their way but they will be taking a slow boat from China so they may be a while.

Any questions? Feel free to ask.

Stolen Property!

See this beautiful card? One of my best creations. I thought I had lost it but I found it the other day where I had put it away for safe keeping. I volunteered my entire Sunday to Photo Continental at Mt Gravatt in Brisbane demonstrating my stencilling techniques and other products I sell in the shops. I displayed this card and another one on which I had used my polymirror. It is actual mirror but made from plastic. They use it in children's toys and other products not suitable for glass. Well, imagine my surprise when I went to show a few people my lovely card (which had taken quite a bit of time to do) to find some low life had stolen it. It didn't belong to the store, it was my personal property. If anyone sees it you will know that the person showing it to you is a thief. Too stupid, lazy or not talented enough to come up with their own creation! Don't even think about teaching this card as I get around a lot of the stores and I will recognise it when I see it. I also have no problem in suing for breach of copyright.

Upcoming classes at Photo Continental

Here are a couple of the classes coming up at Photo Continental. Please call the store to book in.

Two cards will be done in each class. The first class will include Tangling. The second card has a foiled transparent patterned finish. Don't understand? That's why you do the class, lol.

These pear cards are actually done with new Dreamweaver dies. Please note I may not have access to the exact papers used here but I will try. Otherwise I refer to the samples as inspiration pieces.
