March Blog Hop Competition

It is that time again.

Blog Hop Competition time!

The prize for this month is a stamp from the Laurel Burch Collection.

LBCP001Flutterbye

The competition finishes at 12am Friday night.

To enter, place a comment on one of our designers blogs. No need to make or buy anything. One comment equals one entry but only one entry per blog allowed.
This is an ongoing monthly competition and open to Australian residents only. It would be helpful if in your comment you mention the name of city or town where you live.

Here are my inspiration pieces using the Flutterbye stamp.

I used one of the borders in the Elegant Borders Clear Stamp Set for the background. The butterfly was stamped with black Versafine ink then I used a Versamark pen to add clear ink to each section before heat embossing with different Vintage Tinsel embossing powders. All are Stampendous products of course. The sentiment is also from a clear stamp set. (see below)

SSC1122 Elegant Borders.

SSC1158 Thoughtful Messages

The butterfly was stamped and heat embossed with gold detail embossing powder. It was then painted with pearlescent watercolour paints. I created the background with blue mica powder over clear embossing ink. I used Vintage Blue embossing powders in the corners and dots of metallic blue gel markers were added randomly to the background. Very pretty in real life.

Please take the time to look at our designers inspiration pieces using this stamp.

Laurel Burch designs.

These stamps are selling so well I am flat out keeping them in stock. I must admit I wondered how they would be received into the Australian market as they are so different to any of the other stamp ranges available from Stampendous. I needn't have worried......at all!

Here are some inspiration pieces.

Happy crafting,
Julie

Happy birds.

I love this new Happy Birds stamp set. I took my inspiration for this card from Donna Lane, who is my American sister by another mother, as well as part of our design team for our blog hop competition.

SSC1255 Happy Birds Clear Stamp Set

I coloured all the images with my Chameleon Markers. I just need more colours!

Happy crafting (and don't forget the blog hop competition next week!)

More Pink Your Life cards.

Here are some of the cards I did while I was staying with Donna in San Diego after CHA.

Whisper World SSCP109

PLCP04 Whisper Maid

PLCV02 Whisper Fly High

PLCP06 Whisper Friendship
This next card was created for a swap group I belong to and the theme was 'Bling'.

PLCP05 Whisper Princess
The stamp set I used for the sentiments on these cards is

SSC109 Happy Messages
I have had this set in stock for a good while and had never used it but it suits this range of stamps beautifully. I hope it stays in stock as I have sold out of stock as soon as I showed it to my customers. Luckily it doesn't take more than a couple of weeks to get my orders filled thanks to Ronnie and the staff at Stampendous.

Happy crafting,
Julie

Blog Competition

Here are my cards using Whisper Wall stamp from the 'Pink Your Life' collection from Stampendous.

I used Chameleon markers on both of these cards. The difference is (and it's a shame you can't see this very well) I shaped all the fairies on the top card from behind so they are slightly puffed up. Both of them have clear star glitter gel pen on their wings.

If you leave a comment on any of our designers blogs it equates to one entry in the competition but please remember that only one comment per blog will count. It would also be helpful if you could tell us which town you live in so that we don't accidentally include people from outside Australia.

Happy crafting and good luck,
Julie

I am back from CHA

I have great news! My friend Donna has decided to join our Blog Hop Competition as a designer. Donna and I have known each other for about 12 years. We both belonged to a card swap group for a couple of years before Ian and I decided to attend our first CHA trade show. Donna asked us to come and stay with her and her husband in San Diego after CHA, which we gladly accepted. Donna had attended CHA in previous years but didn't go that year, so Ian and I caught a train and spent about a week with her and Dick. I have been going to see them just about every year since then. Usually Donna meets me at our accommodation and after the show we go back to her home. Donna says I owe her about 6 months of reciprocal accommodation when they finally come here, LOL.We usually spend most of our time making cards. This year was no exception and I got a lot of work done which will start to appear here shortly.
Donnas style is unique and she was 'stitching' around her cards well before anyone else started doing it. She prefers whimsical images but is up for the challenge of creating a card using an Andy Skinner stamp set later in the year. Dot's style is more suited to Andy Skinners stamps but will be equally as challenged as Donna with this months stamp. I think Robyn is more 'pretty' (after having spoken to her she says she is more arty, colourful and inky) in her approach to making cards and I am more eclectic in style. All in all, I think we have a great mix in our team and I am excited to see what we all create each month with the featured stamps.

Our feature stamp this month is-

PLCP008 Whisper Wall Cling Rubber Stamp
This months competition will run from Monday the 20th to Friday 25th February. Remember, one comment is one entry. Only one comment per blog and you must be an Australian resident.

Good luck,
Julie

Blog Hop Competition now live.

Here we go people.

Here are my two cards.

I used Chunky Clear Embossing Enamel over mica powder then stamped into it to create the vase. The sunflower and leaves were cut from coloured cardstock and shaded with coloured pencils.

This time I masked and stamped and coloured with pencils. The background was done with inks and big soft brushes. I used a shimmer pen over the vase to finish it.

The prize is both the Sunny Vase Stamp Set AND the Sunny Vase Die Set

Robyn Woods cards can be found on her blog here-
/http://purplesalt.net/2017/01/18/stampendous-sunflowers-an-aussie-blog-hop/

Dot Leathbridges cards can be found here-

Remember, all you have to do is leave a comment on one of the blogs. You can leave one comment on each blog if you want, but you can't comment more than once on each designers blog. I will randomly select the winner on the 1st of February and announce the winner here on this blog.
Good luck,
Julie

Off to CHA

Hi everyone.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and may the new year bring only good things to you.

I am off to CHA in Phoenix next Wednesday. I will be catching up with my friend Donna who lives in El Cajon, San Diego. Donna will be joining us as one of our Blog Hop Competition designers starting in February for our second competition. Our new stock from the 2017 catalogue will be here next week, hopefully before I go anywhere, so I can help Ian put it away and fill our pre-orders. We are running out of room!

I am trying to get some sample cards done for the stores before I go, but I am not worried as I am sure I will get a lot of work done while I stay with Donna. We have been known to stay in our P.J's all day designing cards! Just like home really, lol.

Here a few I have already completed.

SSCP108 Whisper Happy Wagon Clear Stamp Set

SSCP109 Whisper World Clear Stamp Set

Also SSCP109 Whisper World Clear Stamp Set

SSC1158 Thoughtful Messages Clear Stamp Set

SSCP108 Whisper Happy Wagon Clear Stamp Set

SSCP109 Whisper World Clear Stamp Set

There are no dies for these sets but they were pretty easy to fussy cut especially if you leave the small white border around the edges. The Pink Your Life stamps are just getting cuter and cuter. I had fun making these cards.

Happy Crafting,
Julie

P.S. don't forget out Blog Hop Competition goes live on Wednesday 18th January. See previous post.
