Our new design team member is Tracy Moloney from Victoria. Tracy is a past blog hop competition winner and she assures me she is thrilled to be asked to join us. Well we are thrilled that she said 'yes'. Just click on a designers name and you will be taken to that persons blog. Good luck to all.

Here are my cards using the lovely stamp CRP306 Pine Ornaments that is the focus for this months Blog Hop Competition.

I used silver Tinsel glitter embossing powder for the design and white detail embossing powder for the sentiment which is CRM326 Christmas Love

I used Chameleon markers, Palette Hybrid ink and macro glitter for this card. You can't see the dimension on the two glitter baubles but thay are quite raised as I added the glitter over Dimensional magic.

I borrowed this idea from the Stampendous catalogue. I have pressed the stamp into molten Chunky Gold Embossing Enamel. I rubbed some black wax into the grooves to deepen the image but I could have inked up my stamp with black in had I thought of it.

This idea was given to me by a customer. It is resist with Pixie Powders over the top. Thanks Barbara.

June Blog Hop Competition.

I have been so bust preparing for and then working at the Brisbane Scrapbooking and Papercraft Expo this past weekend, that I haven't really given my designers enough time to get their stamps and come up with the wonderful creations they usually share with us. I have decided that we will give this month a miss and do a mega prize pool in July. I can hear the sigh of relief from the girls coming through the ether!

Keep an eye out for next months competition, I hope it will be a beauty! Hint, it won't just be stamps!

Guest Designers

Hi everyone.

Today I want to share with you a few card designs done by Terry and Glenda who are class members of mine but also great cardmaking teachers in their own right. All the stamps used are in the Stampendous range.

The first two cards were made by Terry. He chose to make a double Z card with the new Laurel Burch Mermaid set.

LBCRS03 Mermaid Fish

This second card is a beautiful Diorama card featuring the new Pink Your Life Pirates Clear Stamp Set.

SSCP111 Pirates

This project isn't really a card but a beautiful box made by Glenda. She incorporated stamps from the Pink Your Whisper Fly Clear Stamp Set as well as the new Happy Birds Clear Stamp Set.

SSCP106 Whisper Fly

SSC1255 Happy Birds
This last project is mine. I melted embossing powder in and around the jar to create an ocean backdrop ( lots of different Embossing Enamels and powders) and sandy ocean floor (Golden Sand embossing powder). I used brown paper clay in the bottom of the jar to create a rock. All the shells were coloured and then placed in the jar. To get then to stay upright and not move around I glued each piece to piece of bamboo skewer. The fish are hanging from the lid on thin slivers of acetate. The shells on the lid were made from paper clay and then coloured by using Pearlustre Embossing Powders over them when they were dry. Thanks Glenda for the inspiration and help with some technical details.

Honeycomb Perfectly Clear Stamp Set

Okay, I am officially nuts.
I stamped the honeycomb, then the bees over the honeycomb. I then stamped the bees onto a separate piece of card and vellum. I coloured the honeycomb and the bee bodies on both the card and the separate piece. I taped around the outside of the card and coloured the background with some brown Palette ink. I removed the tape and have an instant mat. The crazy part comes next. I cut out the vellum wings and then the bee bodies. The wings and bodies were glued together and then mounted over the bees on the card front with foam squares. The sentiment is part of the set. Talk about fiddly but the end result was worth it.

Another Laurel Burch stamp.

This card is a little softer in colour than the typical colours by this designer but I think they work well together. I used coloured pencils for the image and Palette hybrid inks for the background.
